Dr. Chris Johnson, OD

Dr. Johnson is a Seattle native who is proud to serve the community he calls home. A graduate of Washington State University, he brings a warm, approachable, and down-to-earth style to patient care — yes, even if you’re a Husky fan.

His journey into optometry began while working as a technician alongside our very own Drs. Kathy Yang-Williams and Rachael Henrie, where he discovered how meaningful it is to help people see clearly and comfortably every day. He earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Arizona College of Optometry and further advanced his training by completing a Surgical Procedures certificate from Northeastern State University’s Oklahoma College of Optometry, allowing him to perform laser and eyelid procedures within the scope of his license.

Dr. Johnson is a member of the American Optometric Association, Optometric Physicians of Washington, and VOSH (Vision Optometric Services to Humanity). He also regularly participates in mission trips to Mexico and Belize to provide eye care to underserved communities.

After graduation, Dr. Johnson practiced in a fast-paced medical optometry clinic in San Diego, where he gained experience treating a wide range of eye conditions. While he enjoyed the California sunshine, it has always been the Pacific Northwest — and its people — that felt most like home.

Today, he is excited to care for patients of all ages at Roosevelt Vision. He has extensive experience in disease management and a special interest in:

• Specialty contact lenses for hard-to-fit eyes
• Myopia (nearsightedness) management in children
• Dry eye treatment to improve everyday comfort

Dr. Johnson believes great eye care is about more than clear vision — it’s about listening, educating, and creating personalized solutions so every patient feels comfortable, cared for, and confident in their treatment. Outside the clinic, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing softball, and exploring the Northwest’s hiking trails. Dr. Johnson looks forward to meeting you and continuing the exceptional care you have come to expect from Dr. Samek and the entire Roosevelt Vision team.
