What is Myopia?

eyeball is either longer than normal, or the cornea is too curved, causing objects far away to
appear blurry.

Michael Samek, OD FAAO

Dr. Michael Samek grew up in Eastern Washington and has lived in the Seattle area for over 35 years. Dr. Samek received a Bachelor of Arts in child psychology from the University of Washington and a Bachelor of Science from Pacific University in Oregon.

Kathy C. Yang-Williams, OD FAAO

Dr. Yang-Williams completed her Doctorate of Optometry degree with honors at the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, and her postdoctoral residency in cornea and contact lenses at the Northeastern State University College of Optometry in Tahlequah, Oklahom.

Rachael Henrie, OD FAAO

Dr. Rachael Henrie grew up in Honolulu, Hawaii and received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Hawaii, Manoa. She earned her Doctor of Optometry from the University of California at Berkeley, where she graduated with multiple honors, including the Beta Sigma Kappa Silver Medal for highest grade point average.
